The Role As an experienced Art Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering a stimulating art curriculum that helps students develop their creative skills and technical abilities. You will guide students in their exploration of various media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art. Your role will involve inspiring students to challenge themselves and express their creativity while ensuring that high standards are maintained throughout the department. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Delivering Lessons: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality art lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their artistic development. Fostering Creativity and Technical Skills: Encourage students to experiment with different artistic techniques, developing their creativity while ensuring they master key technical skills. Assessment and Feedback: Provide regular formative and summative assessments, offering constructive feedback that supports students’ progress and helps them refine their work. Mentorship: Mentor and guide students, particularly those studying for GCSEs, helping them prepare for their exams and develop their portfolios. Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Art Department to share resources, ideas, and best practices, ensuring consistency and high standards in the delivery of the art curriculum. Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead and support extra-curricular initiatives such as art clubs, exhibitions, and school projects, giving students opportunities to showcase their work and further develop their skills outside the classroom. What We Are Looking For Qualifications: A degree in Art or a related subject, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification. Experience: Significant experience teaching Art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for students.
