In accordance with service requirements, you will: Provide clinical leadership for nursing teams in your local place, ensuring a high standard of patient care by providing support and supervision as required. Educate GP Practices about ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests in accordance with the latest information on local systems and services. Validate Spirometry competencies using the NENC agreed competency framework. Ensure all support and guidance is provided, in accordance with agreed protocols. Exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, drawing on your advanced knowledge and experience. Support the ICB Respiratory Clinical Lead to develop a strategy for the Spirometry programme. Ensure compliance with agreed programmes and priorities, maintaining regular communication with the ICB Respiratory Clinical Lead. Establish clear lines of communication with your allocated local place. Act as a role model, providing clear and consistent leadership, at all times. Actively involve the workforce in providing feedback of their experiences of the current service and suggestions for improvements. Participate in the evaluation of the service at the end of the fixed term, including evaluating clinical effectiveness, clinical excellence, and value for money. Help develop, and/or advise on, programmes of education and training for the workforce. Actively signpost the workforce to appropriate training courses, i.e. Rotherham Respiratory Spirometry Training. Administration Organise and prioritise your own workload within agreed timescales, building in flexibility to deal with unforeseen demands on your time and resources. Maintain accurate records, submitting relevant statistics, reports, and activity data, as requested. Attend meeting as needed, ensuring that they are fully conversant with current issues. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including the ICB and your workforce contacts in your local place. Professional Development Keep up to date with all mandatory training to ensure compliance and competence. Keep up to date with current literature and research in respiratory care. Attend training courses in house, online, and externally, to develop expertise and further knowledge. Take responsibility for updating, documenting, and maintaining your own knowledge and skills framework, and sharing professional development with H&SH. Take responsibility for providing ongoing clinical excellence, through evidence-based practices and the development of standards, policies, and guidelines. Express needs or desire for further training and work within your own remit at all times. Participate in appraisals, performance reviews, and professional development plans on an ongoing basis with H&SH when required.
