We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance and Capital Officer to join an organisation in Stone on a 14-month contract covering maternity leave.
You’ll provide management accounts support, undertake month-end accruals, prepayments and reconcile control accounts. You’ll also be responsible for aspects of the capital accounting process including detailed monthly reporting and fixed asset register maintenance.
J ob Description:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, duties for the Finance and Capital Officer will include:
1. Assisting with the production of the monthly management accounts and budget holder reporting
2. Reconciling control accounts, ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and resolved
3. Producing regular reports for budget holders and providing advice, guidance and support
4. Leading the capital accounting process, including responsibility for the fixed assets register and production of the capital programme to be presented by the Director of Finance
5. Attendance secretarial duties at the quarterly Capital Review Group
6. Support in the maintenance and development of the financial system
7. Take the lead in setting up and maintaining users on the system as well as the cost centres to ensure accurate reporting and that system controls work effectively
8. Assist with the setting and monitoring of the annual budget
9. Support with year-end duties
For the Finance and Capital Officer role, it would be good to see candidates with:
10. AAT qualification
11. Month-end accounting experience
12. Capital monitoring experience
13. The ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
Hours: Mondy to Friday, 37 hours per week (flexi-time)
Salary: £29,874 per annum
This role is commutable from Stone, Stafford, Stoke on Trent, Trentham, Longton, Uttoxeter, Eccleshall, Hixon
