About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our team as a Court of Protection Solicitor. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established and modern law firm that provides a comprehensive range of legal services to businesses and individuals.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide litigation support, including contentious deputyship work, in collaboration with senior members of the Court of Protection department.
* Demonstrate an understanding of clients' needs and act promptly, proactively, and efficiently in all client matters.
* Manage Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain-injured and vulnerable clients.
* Handle Trust management, assisting with tax affairs, and preparing accounts.
* Draft Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications, and other associated applications to the Court of Protection.
* Maintain day-to-day contact with clients, attending to their individual lifestyle requirements and ensuring accurate records and payments.
* Delegate and supervise tasks to paralegals and trainees when appropriate.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the law and fulfill continuing professional development requirements.
Requirements
* Qualified Solicitor registered with the SRA or FCILEx qualified Legal Executive within Court of Protection and Clinical Negligence.
* Extensive experience in Court of Protection law and practice.
* Self-organised and proactive, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Confidentiality and the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.
* Proficiency in Case Management and other relevant IT systems.
* Excellent prioritisation, deadline management, and ability to work under pressure.
