JOB TITLE: Support Worker - Resettlement
LOCATION: Weston Super Mare
SALARY: £14.47/hr
The Employer:
We are looking to fill the role of Support Worker - Resettlement, within a housing environment. As well as meeting housing demand, our client aims to enable local companies to recruit the workforce they need from their communities. Their growth strategy will contribute to economic growth and sustain around 7,000 jobs in the building industry and its supply chain. With a plan to increase stock by 5,000 homes over the next 5 years, providing more affordable housing options on a low-cost rent and sale basis, this employer is a much sought after option, offering benefits and stability alike.
The Role:
1. Field based role within a team of 3, and a Team Leader, working with a caseload of up to 20 customers.
2. Work closely with the accommodation services to prevent people from becoming homeless again.
3. Provide housing support around managing a tenancy, working with benefits, bills, exploring options around education, training and employment, budgeting, and engaging with other professionals.
4. Check needs and risks are assessed appropriately to ensure the service is suitable for the prospective customers.
5. Help to keep the system caseload management system updated regularly.
6. Complete Risk and Needs Assessments and Support Plans.
7. Prepare quarterly reports for the commissioners.
The Candidate will need:
1. A drive to find solutions in supporting people with a range of backgrounds.
2. An understanding of people's needs and interests, allowing appropriate action plans to be made.
3. A passion for providing immediate care and support for people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
4. A resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others.
5. The ability to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines.
6. Willingness to work alone or in a team environment.
7. A positive, creative approach, with a can-do attitude whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
8. To hold a valid driving licence.
SUMMARY:
This role is being offered on a part-time, temporary basis - 4-5 months. Working hours are 22.2 a week, with hour patterns between 8am-6pm. An enhanced DBS for adults and children needs to be already held or applied for.
