HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Sustainable Partnerships & Business Development intern will help generate ideas and create tools and strategies that support sustainable partnerships and non-gate revenue growth. After learning about our approach and philosophy, this intern will help develop a Sustainability Scorecard to evaluate and prioritize partners based on alignment with SDZWA’s conservation mission and brand. Additionally, they will research companies within a priority industry and their sustainability initiatives to create a proposal and pitch deck for why a particular company would be a beneficial partner for SDZWA. This work will help us establish criteria for evaluation and strategize new ways to engage with organizations interested in supporting SDZWA’s conservation work, business development program, and our sustainability initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Develop a scorecard to assess potential and existing partners on their alignment with SDZWA’s sustainability goals. This tool will help business development prioritize prospects and streamline outreach to partners with shared conservation values.
* Identify and outline potential sustainability-focused sponsorships (e.g., waste reduction, renewable energy, eco-friendly guest experiences) to support goals of business development and sustainability teams.
* Conduct research into a priority industry. Outline a case study for a specific company, create a pitch deck, and present it to our teams.

JOB EXPERIENCE
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Business, sustainability, or conservation focused area of study preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Previous experience in conservation research or community engagement.
* Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Strong analytical skills to conduct research and analyze data.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Able to operate moderately complex computer software programs.
* Able to work effectively with others in a diverse environment and with diverse populations.
* Able to learn and perform data and sample gathering techniques.
* Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
* Familiarity with conservation issues and strategies.
