Remuneration: £5,272 per annum reasonable expenses Approximate Time Commitment: 24 days per annum (2 days a month). Here at Trent & Dove we are committed to our mission “to provide homes and services that enable people and communities to thrive”. We are looking to recruit a new Non-Executive Director who can help us to deliver the strategic objectives for our organisation and who has strong skills in Finance and/or Treasury Management. If a candidate also had skills or experience in ICT, or leading ICT functions, then that would also be beneficial, but it is not essential. All of our Non-Executive Directors are a member of one of our Board Committees and, if appointed, you would join our Board’s Audit & Risk Assurance Committee. Trent & Dove strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community. We operate an inclusive and transparent recruitment and assessment process, underpinned by an organisational commitment to equality and diversity. We are particularly keen to hear from groups where Trent & Dove, and the social housing sector in general, are currently under-represented at Board level - for example, with respect to under-represented ethnicities, younger age groups, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ and those living in areas of low social mobility. Prior experience as a Board or Committee member, or an understanding of the social housing sector and the regulatory context within which we operate, would be useful but is not essential, as training and support can be provided. We particularly welcome applications from those who have a particular affinity for the work our organisation does and those who have knowledge of the geographical regions or communities that our organisation serves. Who we are: Trent & Dove is a Registered Provider of Social Housing (a “Housing Association”). For the past 24 years, we’ve provided quality, affordable homes for rent, lease or shared ownership across East Staffordshire, North-west Leicestershire and South Derbyshire and we currently have over 6,500 homes under management. We are a non-profit with social purpose objectives; the profit we make is reinvested back into our organisation and our communities to continuously improve services for customers and to support the work of our community partners and stakeholders. Alongside the housing and ancillary support services we provide, we also have an ambitious development and regeneration programme, which adds to new housing supply in the areas where we operate. Alongside our new build activities, we also have an active asset management and investment programme, which seeks to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of our stock to benefit our customers and ensure that their homes are fit for the future. Finally, we believe that an organisation is only ever as good as the people it works with – and we work with some great people! We have over 200 committed and passionate staff, involved residents and Board and Committee members and we have strong relationships with our Local Authority partners and the charities and community groups where we operate. We believe that housing is more than just bricks and mortar and our mission and values are designed to support and create thriving communities that people are proud to be a part of.
