We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants with experience working with children and young people who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, specific genetic conditions, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The ideal candidates will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with a broad spectrum of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities), ASC (Autism Spectrum Conditions), MLD/SLD (Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties), HI/VI (Hearing and Visual Impairments), SpLD (Specific Learning Disabilities), physical disabilities, SLCN (Speech, Language, and Communication Needs), and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs).
- Be dedicated to promoting the emotional, social, and academic growth of students.
- Demonstrate a positive, patient, and adaptable approach when supporting students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, Down's Syndrome, hearing/visual impairments, and Autism.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons while maintaining a calm, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide personalised one-on-one or small group support, tailored to meet the unique needs of students.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, grade C or above.
- Additional qualifications or experience in special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of effective strategies to support children with a wide range of SEND, including Autism, learning difficulties, hearing/visual impairments, specific genetic conditions, physical disabilities, communication challenges, and social/emotional/mental health needs.
- Ability to work effectively with children from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
- A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to stay focused in a dynamic school environment.
