We are seeking a passionate and dedicated primary SEND Teacher to join our educational team at our lovely school in Chelmsford. The role will be a key stage 2 class for students with severe learning difficulties.
The class size of 7 students will be supported by 3 teaching assistants.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for children, particularly within primary settings. This role involves educating and mentoring young learners, ensuring their developmental needs are met while providing engaging and interactive lessons.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the educational needs of children.
2. Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
3. Provide individualised support to students, including tutoring and mentoring as needed.
4. Conduct assessments to track student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
5. Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children's educational journeys.
6. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
7. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
The person
1. Strong background in primary education, with experience in preschool settings preferred.
2. Proficient in proofreading educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
3. Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding in diverse situations.
4. Knowledge of effective tutoring techniques to support individual learning needs.
5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
