Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.
We are recruiting for a Head of Application Support who will lead the Application Support and Technical Services teams within the Information Systems (IS) function. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various business-critical applications across multiple business units. This position not only involves direct management of these critical areas but also extends to supporting the Grocery Group IS Director with the operational leadership of the wider IS function.
Key Accountabilities and Skills
The role requires a blend of strong leadership skills and technical expertise. and will be responsible for steering the Application Support and Technical Services team towards excellence, while also managing strong and effective key stakeholder relationships within Grocery Group. Additionally, this role involves representing Information Services at various Grocery and ABF forums.
Responsible for the overall management of the applications portfolio, co-ordinating with businesses to understand their application needs and ensure timely resolution of issues.
The Right Person
You will have a strong background in IS at a senior level, leading a large Application Support team, preferably within FMCG industry. With sound leadership and team management skills, you will be able to demonstrate clear experience of building, maintaining and developing stakeholder relationships directly and through the team.
Technically capable, with good understanding of ITIL and Service processes and a real problem-solver, it is likely you have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
