As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finishing Specialist to uphold our commitment to excellence in furniture finishing.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Furniture Finisher & Spray Shop Manager to take ownership of our finishing processes, ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards. This role requires extensive hands-on expertise in wood finishing, paint spraying, and workflow management, as well as leadership in maintaining efficiency within our spray shop.
Key Responsibilities:
* Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections and prepare woodwork pre-finishing to an exceptional standard.
* Finishing & Spraying: Perform spray priming, lacquering, and paint finishing using both hand-spraying techniques and automated machinery.
* Preparation & Process Optimization: Manage paint finish preparation, staining, and specialist finishes to achieve flawless results.
* Workflow & Team Management: Organize and optimize finishing schedules to maximize efficiency and meet production timelines.
* Workshop & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of finishing tools, machinery, and environmental standards in alignment with health and safety regulations.
* Technology & Reporting: Utilize internal software and IT systems to track progress, monitor quality, and report on production status.
Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and detail-driven professional with a strong background in high-end furniture finishing. The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in high-end furniture spray finishing.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a busy spray shop or finishing department.
* Expertise in water-based products (preferred but not essential).
* Strong knowledge of staining techniques and specialist finishes.
* A keen eye for detail and ability to maintain consistently high-quality standards.
* Confidence and experience to contribute to department improvements and efficiency strategies.
* Excellent workflow management and project organization skills.
* A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
