Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a growing and successful Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the necessary skills and personal qualities to become a key member of the Trust’s Executive Team, working closely with the CEO and other SET Leaders to develop and implement strategy and to resource and deliver the strategic objectives sustainably.
The Trust has grown over the last 12 months and is now a MAT of twelve schools, educating 8500 nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form students, with a workforce of 1250 staff and annual income of c£55m. Further growth is planned in the coming year with two more primary schools scheduled to join.
The CFO is expected to bring expertise to the finance function, running it as a highly efficient and effective arm of our central services, with a real emphasis on being proactive and customer-focused. As well as ensuring the Trust remains financially stable in challenging funding times by effective financial management and realizing any financial opportunities within the Trust.
The role is directly responsible to the Chief Executives, one of which is the accounting officer for the Trust.
The CFO will provide advice on strategic financial issues and be responsible for financial management and for the leadership and management of the dedicated central financial team. Candidates will need an accountant accreditation. Travel to schools within the Trust will be required.
