JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about food and hospitality, is eager to learn and work hard, and brings good energy to work. We offer a structured training program as well as flexible schedules to support your other goals. Experience is preferred, but we value enthusiasm, passion, and work ethic and are willing to train the right person.
Shift leaders support the General Manager, Cafe Manager, and Assistant Cafe Manager in leading the front of house department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee cafe service in absence of a manager.
2. Open and close the cafe and close deposits as needed.
3. Ensure service standards are being met.
4. Manage daily beverage production, service, and ordering needs.
5. Assist managers in training staff on food, beverage, service, hospitality, and other applicable topics.
6. Assist managers in keeping training materials current, relevant, and effective.
7. Assist managers with admin duties as needed.
8. Assist with communication across teams FOH, BOH, and Pastry.
9. Check daily inventory of applicable products.
10. Be a resource for team members for questions related to products, standards, and systems.
11. Build relationships with regular and interested guests.
12. Ensure the cafe is clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing at all times.
13. Keep BOH storage areas clean and organized.
14. Respond to guest inquiries and complaints during service.
15. Meet with Sofra management teams as needed for consultation, coordination, and brainstorming.
16. Help maintain a culture that ensures that guest needs are met at every point of their Sofra experience.
17. Provide leadership, act as a role model of appropriate behavior in the workplace, enforce company policy and procedures, and uphold quality standards.
18. Maintain company culture to champion vision, values, and uphold staff morale.
Qualified candidates will –
19. Have experience with and/or enthusiasm for leadership and training
