Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves providing top-level project management for an upgrade scheme, a pivotal infrastructure project for the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Forming part of a senior team with the City Manager, Group Manager, and Team Leader for Transport Strategy & Development
Working with the Highways Agency to advance the scheme through preliminary and detailed design stages, construction, and completion
Coordinating senior officers through various work streams in partnership with the Highways Agency
Managing key project aspects including land assembly, detailed design, public consultation and engagement, risk management, and procurement processes
Delivering the capital scheme in collaboration with funders, developers, contractors, elected members, and partners
Supporting the development of the Strategy, Business Case, and Delivery plan stages
Promoting inward investment programmes that align with the Authority's regeneration, educational, and social ambitions
Establishing links and delivering cohesive and affordable regeneration plans in collaboration with the Highways Agency and regeneration partners
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in project management, particularly within the highways and transport planning sector
Strong understanding of infrastructure projects, especially those involving detailed design and construction stages
Proficiency in coordinating multiple work streams and managing key project aspects
Experience in risk management and procurement processes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to support strategic goals and promote inward investment programmes
Proven track record in delivering large-scale capital schemes
