The Post
The RLO (Resident Liaison Officer) is required to liaise between the Client, Site Project Team & Residents verbally and in writing to progress required works with minimum disruption to residents while maintaining steady workflow for Subcontractors. The RLO will be site-based and may be required to fulfill duties concurrently on more than one site as needed. Dependent upon experience, an RLO may be called to carry out additional duties from time to time when junior colleagues may not.

To work effectively in a changing environment, flexibility is required from the post holder. This may involve undertaking other tasks and/or changing the location of the base, all within the same level of responsibility and terms and conditions of employment.
Main Responsibilities
1. Always maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
2. Operate within the equal opportunities policy framework and implement the policy within this area of work.
3. Ensure and maintain the Resident Liaison daily diary, recording incidents and appointments.
4. Submit weekly RLO Reports to Site Manager / Contracts Manager.
5. Understand the works, programme, and scope of works.
6. Provide information for site reports and updates for client and site management.
7. Prepare and distribute all communications to residents.
8. Establish a resident charter and maintain files, comments/queries/complaints log, etc.
9. Compile procedures and administration to complement your role.
10. Carry out pre-visits to each resident to explain the type and method of works.
11. Make arrangements to complete a condition survey, Household Profile, and complete relevant administration.
12. Issue four-week letter or induction letter highlighting areas of insurance, scaffolding, background to Breyer, contact details, site set up, start date, etc.
13. Keep residents informed of any changes, cancellations, and progress.
14. Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the day and at the end of each working day.
15. Advise of any bookings and appointments; where access is denied, liaise with the client’s RLO or Housing Officer.
16. Conduct end-of-day inspections, ensure reconnection of services, and ensure the Site Team provides services at the end of each working day.
17. Ensure that site management is immediately informed of any health and safety issues.
18. Be aware and sensitive to the special needs of residents who may be frail, elderly, or mentally impaired.
19. Provide residents with dust sheets and protect expensive items.
20. Handle claims, compensation, and complaints within a timescale and with care.
21. Be available for residents' meetings, surgeries, and meetings with clients, including Open/Fun days and out-of-hour evening meetings.
22. Attend site meetings, Housing officer, Estate Developments, or Joint Management board meetings, etc.
23. Be aware of public relations and refer issues to your Line Manager.
24. Study and become familiar with the RLO procedure manual.
25. Attend compulsory Health & Safety training.
26. Attend IT training as identified by your Line Manager.
27. Attend any other courses identified by your Line Manager to enhance your training.
