Join EMPath as a Per Diem Residential Mentor and Make a Difference!
Your Role: As a Per Diem Residential Mentor, you’ll play a vital part in fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for our program participants. Every day is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Ensure Shelter Safety: Support daily operations and maintain a secure environment through direct care, empathy, and a commitment to building community.
2. Participant Guidance: Assist participants as they enter and exit the shelter, offering direction and support for their goals.
3. Collaborate with Coaches: Work closely with our Economic Mobility Coaches to inspire participants, aiding in their daily living activities and goal achievement.
4. Support Family Programs: Contribute to family programming, special initiatives, and projects that enhance our community.
5. Flexible Scheduling: As a Per Diem Mentor, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to choose shifts that fit your schedule.
What You Bring:
We’re looking for passionate individuals with a strong desire to make a difference. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
1. A genuine passion for supporting diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or mental health challenges.
2. Emotional intelligence and the ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations.
3. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Sharp problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
Stand Out from the Crowd:
1. Bilingual Bonus: We prioritize candidates fluent in Haitian Creole or Spanish.
2. Education & Experience: An Associate’s Degree in human services, child welfare, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
3. Commitment: Work at least one shift per two-week payroll period and one major holiday per year (July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day) at time-and-a-half pay.
4. Professional Growth: Be prepared to attend occasional training sessions to enhance your skills, with compensation at your standard rate.

6. Pay transparency: This hourly role has multiple shifts available (currently hiring for mornings, part-time mornings and evenings). Hourly rates start at $18 an hour and you will be eligible for shift differentials, second shift the differential is $1.50 and the overnight differential is $2.50.
