We’re looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our forward-thinking and pro-active Facilities team. This role supports the RNLI by providing a buildings fabric and general non-technical maintenance service to support the Facilities Management function. The role provides an appropriate built environment for all staff, visitors, and volunteers at our multi-building site, our Poole Support Centre.

Your Role
As a Maintenance Operative you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
* As a go-to “Multi-Skilled” site Maintenance Operative, you will respond to a wide range of fabric and general maintenance requests from the Helpdesk in situations where a technical and specialized site technician is not required.
* Manage your own workload with reference to the reactive helpdesk and PPM scheduling for non-technical tasks. Proactively log work with the helpdesk, update the helpdesk with work progression, regularly engaging and communicating with the end user.
* Maintain a professional standard of record keeping for documentation relating to tasks, together with all non-technical statutory compliance documentation required to be maintained within the scope of a multi-skilled Maintenance Operative.
* Support the delivery of the RNLI Health & Safety policy and standards. Work safely, ensuring the safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, customers, contractors, and visitors.
About You
You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a service environment and being part of a team. You will work with a flexible approach and be comfortable engaging with customers and management. To be considered as a Maintenance Operative you will need:
* Essential – Experience of building fabric repairs and an understanding of compliance needs which will have been gained while working within the facilities or construction sector.
* Experience in one or more of the following job roles: Tradesman/Handyman/General Maintenance/Fabric Repair or similar.
* Full driving licence.
* Desirable – Trade qualifications which demonstrate a particular capability, L8 Legionella Awareness, IPAF, PASMA, Asbestos Awareness. A background or professional experience in carpentry and decorating would be an advantage but is not essential.
