We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a well-established secondary school in Stockport. The role involves working closely with students who may experience difficulties with behaviour, social skills, or emotional regulation. You will be pivotal in ensuring that students receive the support they need to engage positively with their learning and thrive within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Behaviour Management: Work with students who exhibit challenging behaviours, offering strategies to help them manage their emotions and interactions.
* Emotional Support: Build rapport with students, providing individual support to improve their self-esteem, social skills, and overall well-being.
* Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring that students maintain focus and contribute to the learning environment.
* Supportive Interventions: Develop and implement personalised intervention plans for students who need additional support with their emotional and behavioural development.
* Monitoring Progress: Track and assess students' behavioural progress, working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other pastoral staff.
* Collaboration with External Agencies: Liaise with outside services and specialists, such as educational psychologists or social workers, to ensure students' needs are met.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: Previous experience in supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, or in a similar support role within a school or alternative provision.
* Key Skills: Strong communication skills, a calm and consistent approach, and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
* Qualifications: A background in education, youth work, psychology, or related fields is desirable but not essential.
* Personality: Patient, empathetic, and proactive with a passion for supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and development.
