This post will be based across provider services in Windsor, Teddington and Surbiton Children’s homes.
Achieving for Children (AfC) is opening a second children's home whilst also developing our outreach services to children and young people on the edge of care. Therefore we are now looking to recruit workers who are attracted to a role which will include both working within a children's home setting and offering outreach support to children in the community.
The role entails safeguarding the well-being of all children in the home, addressing issues promptly, and acting as a key worker for identified youth. Collaborating with the team, providing guidance on effective care practices, and managing challenging behaviors are essential. Communication with social workers, schools, and relevant professionals is vital for consistent care whilst building relationships with relatives and advocates. You will also be given a small caseload of children and young people who require edge of care interventions and support as we develop our outreach service
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Christine Flowers, Operations Manager at christine.flowers@achievingforchildren.org.uk

A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people.
