A day in the life of…
As a Night Porter/Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of the hotel during night hours. Your duties will include carrying out a minimum of two security checks at regular intervals, with a strong focus on security and fire safety. You will be responsible for cleaning public areas, including the restaurant and bar, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the night.
You will also assist in preparing breakfast from 6:00 AM and serve food and drinks to guests during the night as required. Excellent customer service is key to this role, as you will be the first point of contact for guests during overnight hours — handling enquiries, resolving any issues, and ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere at all times.
This role is unlike any other in our hotel and offers development opportunities across all departments.
What do we need from you?
* Strong attention to detail: As night porter, you must have a keen eye for detail to ensure that all areas of the property are clean and presentable.
* Good communication skills: You’ll have strong communication skills to interact with guests and staff members effectively. You may also need to report any issues or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
* Customer service skills: You should possess good customer service skills to assist guests with their needs and ensure that they have a comfortable and pleasant stay. You’ll need to be approachable, friendly, and able to handle any guest complaints or requests.
* Ability to work overnight shifts: It goes without saying, but you must be able to work late-night and early-morning shifts as the role typically involves working during the night-time hours.
