Key tasks & Responsibilities
1. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care directed by senior nursing staff and GPs:
2. Chronic disease management: Diabetes, Asthma, Hypertension, COPD.
3. New Patient Medicals and NHS Health Checks.
4. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
5. Summarising patient medical records.
6. Adhering to practice policies and protocols.
7. Carrying out audits as required.
8. Cervical Cytology.
9. Baby clinic.
10. Routine/Travel/Childhood vaccinations & immunisations.
11. Home visits to Care Homes and housebound patients to undertake long-term condition reviews, blood tests and vaccinations.
12. Maintaining Confidentiality at all times.
13. Adhering to Health & Safety standards, Safeguarding standards, Equality and Diversity.
14. Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by nurses and GPs.
15. Maintaining Infection Control standards by complying with practice protocols.
16. Maintaining stock in GP and Nurses rooms and rotating items as required.
17. Maintaining tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
18. Organising repairs or calibration of medical equipment and servicing of fridges.
19. Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels.
20. Conducting audits including cold chain, infection control and other audits as required.
21. Logging temperatures of fridges.
22. Participating in administrative systems in the Practice.
23. Maintaining accurate clinical records.
24. Advising the Practice Manager of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
25. Attending and participating in practice education sessions.

They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately. All information is to be regarded as strictly confidential and may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
Health & Safety: The post holder will assist in promoting and maintaining health, safety, and security as defined in the practice health and safety policy including:
1. Using personal security systems within the practice.
2. Identifying risks involved in work activities and managing those risks.
3. Making effective use of training to update skills and knowledge.
4. Using appropriate infection control procedures.
5. Reporting potential risks identified.
Personal/Professional Development: The post holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice, including:
1. Participation in annual performance review.
2. Taking responsibility for own development, learning, and performance.
3. Demonstrating skills and activities to others undertaking similar work.
