Key Purpose of Role-Assistant Quantity Surveyor To assist the Quantity Surveyors to deliver accurate commercial input; concise sub-contract procurement and excellent cost control throughout the life of each development, delivered on time and within budget. Key Duties / Responsibilities-Assistant Quantity Surveyor Increase Trade Contractor Base Assist Quantity Surveyor to identify New Trade Contractor Partners; meet and help explain the company culture, ‘Labour Only and ‘all-risk packaging where applicable. Assist in obtaining prices on standard and non-standard house types. Assist to improve relationships with existing Trade Contractors. ‘All-Risk’ Procurement Assist Quantity Surveyor with tendering for ‘all-risk’ Road, Sewers and Plot works; assist in negotiate of best value packages and present for approval. Labour Only Contractors Assist with measurement ‘Take-Off’s’ for all Brickwork and Joinery labour works. Assist the checking of labour only variations, prior to processing / payment. New Site Starts Assist the Quantity Surveyor with the compiling of site start budgets. Assist in creating subcontract tender comparisons. Assist the site Quantity Surveyor in compiling accurate costs to complete valuations. Assist agreeing variations and in good cost control processes. Qualifications ONC (or equivalent) OR Qualified by experience. HNC (desirable). Experience Construction industry experience – preferably house building environment. Key knowledge and skills Ability to work remotely. Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Excellent level of numeracy. Ability to read and understand specifications and working architectural drawings. Good time management skills. Commercial awareness. Personal attributes Highly motivated and resilient.
