Uniglad Ingredients specialises in the distribution of starches, sweeteners, sugars and dairy ingredients for the food manufacturing industry. Uniglad is the distribution arm of Sedamyl and is owned in totality by the parent company Sedamyl whom are manufacturers of Alcohol, Starches & Sweeteners in UK and Italy.
Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for growing Uniglad’s B2B sales in the UK and Ireland. Focusing on SMEs across various business sectors within the food manufacturing arena, you will develop positive customer relationships with new and existing accounts and provide an unrivalled customer experience by liaising closely with other Uniglad team members to ensure that we remain the best at what we do for customers both existing and potential.
Main Accountabilities
Duties include the following but are not limited to:
* Generate new business leads
* Manage and grow distribution and sales channels
* Make outbound business to business sales calls, cold calling, and lead chasing
* Site visits to potential, new and existing customers
* Negotiate sales contracts with customers
* Manage your customer relationships cross functionally and support the sales team
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure outstanding customer experience
* Ensure that annual budgets, spend, customer business and promotional plans are managed in line with corporate expectations
* Deliver monthly sales targets and KPI’s
* Support Marketing activity to drive sales
* Deliver monthly forecasts
* Handle complex enquiries/complaints
* Work within a target driven environment
* Work as part of a small but busy team
* Problem solve with tenacity and self-motivation
* Regular travel in the UK, and the ability to regularly visit the sales office in Selby North Yorkshire.
Performance Measures
* Number of leads generated within a specified period
* Value of sales and margin achieved in a specified time
* Completion and despatch of customer orders within strict deadlines
* Accurate and clear forecasting & tracking of key metrics
* Overall customer satisfaction
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience in a similar commercial role within the UK food industry, ideally with specific knowledge of food ingredients
* Degree level qualification preferable
* Commercially astute
* Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
* Proven ability to work collaboratively across multi-discipline teams
* Ability to plan and organise a variety of work with conflicting demands
* Self-motivated and driven
* Ability to work under pressure
* Computer literate, Microsoft Office and previous experience in Sage CRM desirable
* Ability to work autonomously on your own initiative to achieve results safe in the knowledge you have the full backing and support of the wider business.
