Hours: 37.5 over 5 days Work pattern: Including weekends, bank holidays and evenings Duration : Permanent West Midland Safari Park have an exciting opportunity for the position of Senior Keeper to join our Carnivore section. This section manages Lions, Tigers, African wild dogs, Cheetah and Dholes in drive through exhibits. The role requires direct involvement in the daily management of the animals on the section along with supervision of staff in a supportive and positive manner. The position also involves monitoring of our guests within the drive through and manning the watch towers. About you The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supervising a team, you will be confident, motivated and approachable with a good understanding of animal husbandry and have relevant experience working with carnivore species. Your approach to the role will be methodical and safety focused, ensuring that all record keeping, staff training, and Health and Safety regulations are met. You will be passionate and enthusiastic about wildlife, education and biodiversity management. You will hold an Animal Management qualification, have successfully completed the DMZAA and due to driving in animal restricted areas, possess a full, valid Driving Licence. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
