Main duties of the job The successful candidate will: Maintain a high-level skills and knowledge as a resource/role model for staff and patients. Working towards Level 2 of the RCN competences. Manage day to day shift leading and patient flow, ensuring a high standard of care throughout the department. Respond appropriately and professionally to maintaining quality, managing critical incidents and escalating events when appropriate. Informally and formally networking with colleagues and agencies to share quality initiatives, spread good practice and accept responsibility for developing further. You will provide exceptional nursing care, undertake staff appraisals, attendance management and other operational management and clinical duties. You will work alongside the current Sisters/Charge Nurse and support the Lead Nurse team to ensure we maintain the highest standards of care at all times. You should be a clinical expert and proactively develop your own and others knowledge and skills. You should be a leader and be able to supervisethe clinical work of others and manage the emergency care setting as a whole; managing patient flow and delegating care accordingly.You will work closely withthe Emergency Medicine Consultantand clinical decision makers to ensure safety of patients and best use of resources.
