35 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:30am to 5:00pm
We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager to join our Housing team based in the Staffordshire and Burton area. You will be working within a wider team of 11 people, who are based at each of our Housing for Older Persons schemes within this area. As a Scheme Manager you will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service which will include providing tenancy advice, following up repairs for residents and promoting independent living. This is a rewarding yet challenging role and is ideal for someone who has previous experience of working with older or vulnerable people in a housing management setting and is aware of safeguarding concerns
The role of Scheme Manager will include:
- Effectively managing any low level anti-social behaviour which may include attending evictions, gathering relevant information to support this and managing the complaint process for the service area
- Providing a housing management service and signposting tenants to support organisations
- Dealing with part of the lettings process, including viewings, pre void inspections and key management
- Undertaking compliance checks and scheme inspections, ensuring we comply with health and safety regulations
- Working with external agencies such as Social Workers concerning additional support requirements/safeguarding referrals
- Identifying potential repairs or faults in the scheme, ensuring they are reported and monitored
Skills and experiences:
- Experience of working with older people or vulnerable client groups is essential
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, allowing you to build strong relationships
- The ability to work on own initiative in a high paced environment
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Housing Management experience and basic knowledge of welfare benefits and rent accounts is desirable
- Occasional travel between schemes will be required; therefore, a full, current driving licence is preferential

- The full time equivalent salary for this role is £23,774 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £24,510 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
