We are a GMS practice in East Birmingham. We have 11,000 patients and are part of the Shard End Kitts Green PCN.
We are a training practice for GP registrars, FY2s, and undergraduates for the Birmingham Medical School.
We are looking for an experienced GP to join our team as a Salaried GP for a 4-6 session cover. The minimum cover required is all day Thursday and Fridays.
The indemnity is paid by the practice, and our contracts are based on the BMA guidelines.
The salary package will be based on experience.
For the right candidate, there can be a possibility of a partnership in the future.
Main Duties of the Job
The post-holder will be a fully qualified GP. Main duties will include managing a caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone/face-to-face consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Our team comprises 4 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 ACPs, a Pharmacist, 3 Nurses, and 3 HCAs.
We are also a training practice.
The GPs have special interests in Diabetes, Dermatology, Family Planning, and Palliative Care research and encourage further professional development and training for all staff.

JOB TITLE: SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONER
REPORTS TO: THE PARTNERS (Clinically) and THE PRACTICE MANAGER (Administratively)
Job Summary:
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organization.
3. Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
5. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
6. Providing counselling and health education.
7. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
8. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
9. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
