Due to a reshuffle within the pastoral department, our client Secondary school located in the central Birmingham area wish to appoint a permanent Pastoral Manager in the new year of 2025.
Position Overview
* Full-time Pastoral Manager position in Birmingham.
* Non-teaching role, responsible for pastoral and behaviour management.
* Experience within a similar role is desirable.
* Manage the responsibility of a large year group and a full pastoral team.
Applicant Requirements
* Previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities, including leading and managing areas such as a whole year group.
* Ability to encourage and enthuse students to achieve their full potential and be inspirational to both colleagues and students.
* Confidence in cooperating with senior staff as well as a large cohort of teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the whole School Improvement Plan.
2. Support the Key Stage Learning Coordinator in planning programmes of intervention for students showing significant underachievement.
3. Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to maintain acceptable student behaviour.
4. Manage student behaviour within the year group.
5. Develop and implement strategies to ensure that year group attendance and punctuality meet or exceed school targets.
6. Establish and manage systems for monitoring and tracking students out of lessons.
7. Establish a programme of enrichment activities to enhance motivation and raise attainment.
8. Motivate and reward students, working with teachers to ensure continued motivation and challenge for students.
