Powertrain Calibration Engineer, Essex £50,000 - £60,000 Circa Benefits Unknown recruitment is seeking a Powertrain Calibration Engineer for our R&D client based in Essex to join a highly skilled engineering team to work on the exciting future transportation renewable fuel powertrain technologies. Powertrain Calibration Engineer Responsibilities: Perform base engine calibration across multiple powertrains in a dyno environment. Complete calibration in vehicle and on non-road machinery. Support aftersales teams on calibration updates and level upgrades. Provide engineering reports with program status activity reports covering both technical deliverables and business performance. Recording and analyse test data using current analytical and product development IT tools relevant to engine software and control systems. Provide field calibration and engineering support both on and off site. Research alternatives and implement solutions to measure and meet customer-driven calibration and development objectives. Participate in root cause failure analysis during the development process. Find and recommend practical solutions for specific failure modes as related to calibration parameters, or calibration related engine and emissions systems performance. Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety and Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas. Powertrain Calibration Engineer Requirements: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or other related degree (or equivalent proven experience). Experience in diesel calibration, test, development and systems engineering. Must be methodical, self-starting and willing to travel internationally. Skilled in electrical engineering. Experience of CANBUS communications, fault finding and logging. Experience in ECU simulation hardware/software. Knowledge of Quality tools and techniques Experienced problem solver Skills in reliability and robustness engineering. Ability to self-manage and work under pressure to deliver in an ever-changing and dynamic environment.
