12-month fixed-term/secondment opportunity As a result of an internal secondment, this exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional has arisen with Central Procurement. Key responsibilities will be excellent business partnering with a number of business functions across our Group and taking responsibility for all procurement activities for those specific functions and categories. Whilst this role is based at our Pagoda House site in Harrogate, we are willing to consider flexible arrangements including hybrid working and reduced working hours (a minimum of 30 hours over 4 days due to the demands of the role). If this is something you wish to discuss, please specify your ideal requirements in your application form. Central Procurement is the team responsible for managing all indirect spend across the whole of the BTG group - working on a business partnering model with internal stakeholders to maximise value and minimise risk on our annual spend of around £55m, against over 1000 suppliers. The successful candidate will have: a track record of working with internal and external partners to effectively manage procurement activities within a category; strong knowledge of good procurement practice and previous experience in an indirect procurement role; experience of negotiating contractual terms and commercials with suppliers; proven problem solving skills; able to approach challenging situations and develop effective proposals/solutions in response; demonstrable experience of leading implementation of continuous improvement or change activities. Procurement qualifications such as CIPS would be desirable but not essential. Specific category knowledge and experience of facilities management, property, and/or distribution would be an advantage. Coupled with all the above is the ability to understand and demonstrate both collaborative and peer-based ways of working, in line with our company values. This role offers a great opportunity to make a real impact on the business by adding more procurement value, as well as helping to lead the development of approaches, processes and systems that will best enable the Group to meet its wider objectives in the years to come. Specific category and business area ownership will be explored and agreed within the CP team as a whole following this recruitment. What we offer you As a minimum, all our employees receive free meals, drinks and snacks while at work, a discretionary quarterly profit-share bonus, holiday allowance with the option to buy and (in some cases) sell additional days, company-wide employee discounts, access to our health cash plan, wellbeing support, company funded counselling, and enrolment in the company pension. We also offer a range of development opportunities no matter your role and ambitions. We encourage everyone to explore what makes them the best version of themselves, and we do this through external training programmes, apprenticeships and internal 1:1 coaching schemes.
