Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist environment?
A Ofsted rated 'Good' school, for pupils aged 4-16 with SEMH needs, are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support children with SEMH needs in a structured and nurturing environment. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help students manage their behaviour, develop essential social skills and engage with the curriculum. The role involves assisting with both 1-1 and group activities, ensuring that each student's individual needs are met.
This long-term role offers the opportunity for a permanent position within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour using appropriate techniques.
- Help create a safe, nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with the wider school team to develop and implement personalised support plans.
- Encourage students to build confidence, independence and key life skills.
- Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children who have SEMH or special educational needs (SEN).
- A passion for helping children with emotional and mental health challenges reach their full potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive relationships with students, staff and families.
