Your role and responsibilities As a Business Intelligence Officer, you will be supporting Children and Young People’s Services (CYP) as a whole and Suffolk Youth Justice Service (SYJS) practitioners and managers directly with IT systems and related training to support a cycle of effective data recording which in turn supports effective reporting and analysis. This is a varied role, but a typical day might include: delivering training to users of the SYJS case management system Core to ensure staff are confident in the use of the system, understand recording essentials and reasons for data capture. creating and maintaining user guides, videos, and other documentation relevant to supporting users of Core. supporting users of Core with faults and queries and escalate issues which cannot be resolved to the Business Intelligence Manager, SCC IT or suppliers as appropriate. undertaking day-to-day system administration such as creating/removing users, system configuration to meet recording requirements and User Acceptance Testing ahead of system upgrades. You will need experience training and supporting users in IT systems experience in building relationships with staff and stakeholders experience creating user guides and support information using a variety of methods ability to produce information in an accessible format for a wide range of audiences comfortable presenting and speaking in front of different audiences good understanding of the Data Protection Act, information governance and patient confidentiality regulations knowledge or experience within the youth justice arena would be a bonus but is not essential. The role of the team is to: develop understanding of data and intelligence across the business through effective oversight of local reporting. create the tools and technologies that assist in developing an effective evidence-based approach to service delivery for the people of Suffolk. effectively maintain and develop key case recording systems and deliver system training and support using a multitude of platforms. complete all statutory returns to government bodies.
