We have a great new role for a Core Voice IMS Engineer to join our Converged Voice and Services Operations Team.
This is a diverse role working on projects (such as IMS expansion, 5GSA expansion) and continued operational support. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role is accountable for the operation and technical support of the Core Voice network, providing operational support for our 38 million consumers.
You will join a high-performing team providing a second-to-none support function for a wide variety of live Virgin Media O2 customer-facing services. It is a fast-moving environment with a constant rate of change and new deliveries, requiring individuals to be focused but flexible in their approach.
There is a requirement to join the 1 in 5 rota to provide 24 x 7 support.
Key responsibilities:
* Taking part in detailed investigations into mobile network incidents, driving resolution and directing third-party to investigate and resolve software and hardware issues within agreed SLAs.
* End-to-end service responsibility for the Core Voice IMS, providing 24/7/365 on-call 2nd line support to drive the resolution of live network issues to agreed SLAs, including engagement of vendor services where required.
* Take a lead Operations role in the decision-making process for how elements and services are implemented and maintained. Also provides operational consultancy to help shape the design, testing, and operation of new applications, products, and services.
* Ensuring Virgin Media O2's Core Voice IMS infrastructure and equipment meets the Service Quality expectations of Virgin Media O2's customers including availability, capacity, throughput, and success rates. This includes Core Voice IMS network and Management tools.
* Providing support to project deliverables out-of-hours and during maintenance windows when required.
* Reviewing HLDs, LLDs, and Service Design Packs and contributing to support processes, testing, and making design change recommendations where required.
The must-haves:
* Experienced in a 2nd/3rd line core voice & fixed IMS technical support role.
* A good understanding of 3G, 4G & IMS networks, signalling, interfaces, and protocols.
The other stuff we are looking for:
* Strong analytical and diagnostic skills and a logical approach.
* A good understanding of network connectivity including IP Backhaul, Function of the Security Gateway, and be able to problem solve in these areas where necessary.
* 5GSA would be advantageous.
