Library Services Facilitator (Term Time Only)
Hours: 36.25 hours
Working 40.63 weeks (paid for 49.83 weeks to include accrued annual leave)
Salary: £21,676.05 (£22,191 - £23,679 – full time equivalent salary)
Location: Altrincham Campus, Stretford Campus (although requirements across the Group may require cover at other sites as agreed with Programme Leader/Head Of Studies)
An opportunity has arisen for Library Services Facilitator to join The Trafford College Group (TCG) and play a leading role in realising our vision to unlock the potential and foster the success of all our learners by providing effective learning spaces and resources to support independent learning.
About you:
We are looking for someone who can work within our libraries, providing effective learning spaces and resources to support independent learning and a welcoming service for all members of the College.
You will provide support and a high quality of customer service to the users of the Library which will include good oral and written communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully with staff and students will be essential.
You will have excellent customer service skills, be organised and able to handle regular, routine tasks. You will have experience of using a range of ICT software, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
The Job:
You will provide a service to students and staff; answering queries, assisting with the use of IT and resources, and supporting students to focus on their studies.
You will deliver library inductions to both students and staff, delivering independent research and study skills sessions to groups of learners alongside teaching staff throughout the academic year.
You will also liaise with designated FE curriculum teams to ensure the library has the relevant resources for the curriculum area.
in order to be successful in this role you must have a level 3 Library or initial teaching/training qualification (e.g. PTLLS) or a commitment to achieve within two years and Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent. A level 2 IT qualification (e.g. ECDL) would be desirable.
