Applications are invited to apply for a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a new post offering 10 programmed activities. Additional programmed activities may be available, but these are subject to annual discussion and agreement and do not form part of the underlying contractual agreement.
An obstetric interest (high risk pregnancy, maternal medicine, fetal medicine) would be helpful. Potential applicants are invited to discuss areas of sub-specialty interest with clinical managers at the Trust prior to application.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching both under and postgraduate students associated with the University of Buckingham and will also be expected to support colleagues doing these activities as part of his or her arranged job plan.

• To participate in Consultant Labour Ward and emergency gynaecology cover and on-call as per the rota
• The successful candidate will be expected to be motivated and committed to work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education.

There are 13 Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, 5 Specialist Trainees and 11 Trust Doctors at registrar level.
There is 2 tier registrar rota during the day and night. The approximate number of births is around 4000.
The appointee will be encouraged to develop a subspeciality interest (high risk pregnancy, maternal medicine, fetal medicine)would be helpful
There will be 1 in 12 on-call rota commitments including Labour Ward hot week (1in 12) and an Emergency Gynae hot week (1in 13, AM session only).
