Story Behind the Need:
Business group: Global Technology Control Testing
The US cybersecurity and IT risk team oversees and advises on cybersecurity and IT risk matters in Scotiabank US. The team's primary focus is to ensure the bank's security controls are in line with industry standards and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the U.S. Information Security Control and Risk teams with creating visually compelling presentations, content, and documents in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. The Presentation Specialist shall be able to synthesize complex information regarding strategic initiatives to depict clear, readable, and digestible visuals that enable audiences to understand and engage with these ideas.

Typical Day in Role:
1. Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
2. Create executive-level PowerPoint presentations that visually communicate key messages and insights, incorporating storytelling techniques to engage and captivate internal and external audiences.
3. Synthesize complex data into consumable and easy-to-digest presentations, charts, and infographics.
4. Assess and evaluate existing presentations to implement and recommend improvements.
5. Gather references and notes quickly, track action items and follow-up tasks, and provide timely updates to team members and stakeholders as needed.
6. Utilize strong business writing skills to draft and edit various documents, reports, and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
7. Assist with cybersecurity and IT tasks as assigned, including managing risk tracker, and reviewing cybersecurity-related articles and frameworks.
8. Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and meet deadlines.
9. Work independently to problem-solve while also collaborating with a team.
10. Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity and IT policies, procedures, and best practices, contributing to process improvement initiatives and organizational efficiency.
11. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
12. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1. 4+ years experience with Data Analytics
2. 10+ years of experience implementing graphics and multimedia within PowerPoint.
3. Proficiency in MS Excel
4. Demonstrated creativity and storytelling prowess, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
