Equifind are currently partnering with a fast-paced, acquisitive, successful Asset Management firm based in Victoria.
They are looking to add to their already established Finance team by hiring an Assistant Management Accountant. With the predominancy of their growth coming through acquisitions, they are a specialist and rapidly growing Asset Manager.
The current work pattern is 5-days in the office.
The Role:
The Assistant Management Accountant for this successful Asset Management firm, will be focused on:
* Member of the Group Finance Controllership Team responsible for ensuring alignment, consistency, and best practice finance outcomes across UK and Globally.
* End-to-end ownership with preparation and reconciliation of accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers including bank reconciliations, intercompany loans, accruals, deferred income and prepayments.
* Perform day-to-day financial transactions including the review of all accounts payables invoices and expense reports for accuracy in coding, tax accruals, signature approvals and appropriate back-up documentation. Ensuring outgoing payments are made in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
* Generate reports detailing accounts payables and accounts receivables status and recommend actions to take to clear ledgers.
* Support the UK Finance Manager in delivering annual audits, engaging with external auditors and providing information.
* Prepare quarterly VAT reports for UK Finance Manager review and assist with the submissions to HMRC.
* Other activities will include responsibility for the reconciliation of intercompany balances between UK and other entities, maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and other activities requested by the UK Finance Manager.
* Assist the UK Finance Manager in delivering the month-end close and preparation of management accounts on time with high levels of accuracy. Support the monthly submission to the Global Finance team for consolidation and support any follow up.
* Involvement in ad-hoc projects such as developing new processes and controls, new system implementation and continuous improvement, and accounting regulation implementation under UK GAAP including researching, presenting, and planning for internal reports.
Application Criteria:
* Able to work in a fast-paced team environment and can hit the ground running, with a track record of rolling sleeves up to get the work done while looking for improvements longer term.
* Ideally a minimum 1-3 years’ experience in an accounting role, working within a Finance team.
* Solid understanding of cash-flow, accounting payable and receivable principles.
* Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
* Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel.
* Ideally working towards ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification.
* Keen to undertake ongoing study and continuous personnel development which the firm will provide support for.
* Experience working in a professional services or similar nature business.
* Ideally preferred experience of UK GAAP.
Compensation:
The Permanent Assistant Management Accountant role with a successful Asset Manager, will be paid a competitive market-based salary with full study support (CIMA, ACCA).
