The Trust believes in investing in all our staff and rewarding high standards of care whilst building for excellence and in return we expect our staff to uphold the Trust values to the highest level. The preceptorship programme manager plays an important role in providing leadership support for practice development within the trust and a unified approach to embedding fundamentals of care into all areas of practice development. This will be an opportunity to support the clinical educational lead in the planning and delivery of corporate and trust wide projects in support of the nursing, midwifery and AHP strategy. The preceptorship programme manager will provide leadership to our corporate based clinical practice educators to develop our preceptorship programme, preceptorship support and clinical practice across the trust. Preceptorship at PAHT is multiprofessional and we ensure appropriate support to nurses, midwives, AHPs and health care support workers (HCSW) so that they are equipped to deliver the highest standards of evidenced-based clinical skills through empowerment, education, and assessment. The preceptorship programme manager will collaborate with the divisional based practice development nurses, AHPs workforce and education leads and many other key staff members to support the development of nursing staff ensuring that care delivery at PAHT is safe, responsive, effective, well led and compassionate. The preceptorship programme manager is an experienced senior nurse who must be able to interact with our multiprofessional workforce at all professional levels. The individual is expected to represent the corporate nursing team and support clinical staff to understand the strategic direction of the organisation with particular emphasis on how a well led preceptorship programme can improve patient safety, patient outcomes and patient experience.
