The Role
As part of a core maintenance team, respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns, carry out planned preventative maintenance and improvement schemes on equipment.
Duties:
1. To be able to carry out tasks unsupervised, the ability to work without immediate support to resolve all equipment breakdowns during weekends. To complete improvement tasks/planned maintenance (when not tackling breakdowns).
2. Familiar with fault finding in panels, inverters, motors, switchgear, installation work, P.L.C's (Siemens S5 & S7).
3. Hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, press and injection moulding experience beneficial but not essential.
4. Planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, kaizen.
5. Understanding of legionella checks, fire alarm system checks, permits to work, risk assessments.
6. Good communication, flexibility, team ethics to achieve goals.
The Person
1. Lean technique knowledge (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, autonomous maintenance).
2. Appropriate IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
3. Understanding of HSE Policies.
4. Problem-solving techniques.
5. Preventative maintenance techniques (predictive, planned).
6. City & Guilds or O.N.C in mechanical or electrical engineering a benefit.
7. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment will be an advantage.
Shift Pattern:
Mon-Thu 2 weeks of days (6.30am – 4.15pm) and 1 week of afternoons (11.30am - 9.15pm).
