Reach Printing Services Oldham seeks a skilled Shift Engineer with mechanical or electrical background to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of print production.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial to ensuring a seamless operation and the maintenance of Reach's print production. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is conducted in a prompt manner and deliver improvement engineering through the use of structured problem solving techniques and applying engineering technical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
* Observe, follow and maintain the integrity of all safe systems across site and follow any safety instructions, as required
* Deliver improvement engineering through the use of structured problem solving techniques and applying engineering technical knowledge
* Assist and support operators to undertake low level engineering tasks in structured process
* Develop standard operating procedures and support production activities to improve equipment performance
* Support engineering and operations as directed when required
* Ensure compliance with engineering visual standards, where applicable
* Ensure that breakdowns are attended promptly and resolved properly, using all the resources at your disposal
* Work to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted in a prompt manner
* Complete all mandatory training requirements, as requested by the company, to enable a safe working environment for all
* Any other additional duties as requested by line management that they are trained and/or capable of performing as necessary, in line with business requirements
Requirements:
* Level 3 (NVQ) engineering qualification in an appropriate electrical or mechanical discipline; OR Evidence of an appropriate, time-served, apprenticeship in engineering
* The ability to work within a flexible team and shift-based environment
* The ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines within an FMCG environment
* Be aware of, and have the ability to use, a range of continuous improvement tools and techniques
* Embrace new technology and demonstrate an understanding of computer-based systems and equipment
* Have excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written form
* Ability to interact at all levels within an organisation, including management, operators, contractors and visitors to site
* Must be IT literate and have the ability to manage an email account effectively;
* Login to web-based training suites and follow training online; report, track and follow-up and raise jobs on our CMMS system; competently carry out basic document manipulation on software such as MS Word and Excel
Desirable Experience:
* Experience as a shift-based engineer, in a manufacturing environment
* FMCG background
* Flexibility approach to working patterns, including the hours, times and days of work
* Be able to work across a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, covering 365 days a year
