Job Summary
As the Content Production Lead within Dstl you will be the senior content producer, videographer and photographer, managing a team of three digital-first video, animation and photography experts as well as carrying out hands-on content creation.
You and your team will produce compelling and engaging imagery and video content that highlights the world class science we do and those that do it, and brings our internal and external communications channels (including social media) to life.

Job Description
The Content Production Lead will report to the News, Media and Content Manager and act as the point of contact for new video, photography and content production projects.
You will triage requests in collaboration with other leaders in the team and have overall responsibility for scheduling, tasking and prioritising work, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met, delivered and exceeded.
Working closely with senior leadership you will identify, direct, collect and push compelling and engaging imagery, video and animation content to Dstl’s channels to communicate key messages, strengthen Dstl’s brand and engage our target audiences, as well as fulfilling other business needs such as capturing scientific and technical trials.
You and your team will also be there to ensure we have great content and photos for key events and visits to Dstl from our most important stakeholders.

Person specification
Technical Skills And Experience
* Deep and demonstrable understanding of video, radio and photographic production techniques and equipment.
* Expert level digital media production skills with evidence of creative outputs (a portfolio of material will be required at selection stage demonstrating strong outputs and even stronger outcomes).
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a range of staff.
* Experience in content production or communications environment, ideally managing or supervising a team in an agency or in-house in a large, diverse and complex organisation.
* Experience in video production/animation/photography.
* Experience in working and managing the workload of others in a fast-paced creative environment, dealing with multiple tasks and triaging strategic comms outcomes with specific customers’ needs.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent vocational qualifications.
Work location:
Dstl is strongly encouraging blended and flexible working either at one of our sites or from home or both. We want to empower you to undertake your duties at the most appropriate location for the task, however you will be allocated a Dstl site as a base. You may be required to travel to other Dstl and MoD sites as required.
