We Do Group is partnering with a fast-growing, innovative logistics and technology business in Surrey to hire a Financial Controller in this newly created role. This position reports directly to an exceptional Group Finance Director, whom we have worked closely with over the years.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day management of the operational finance team. You’ll thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the autonomy to suggest and implement change while playing a key role in the business's continued success.
This is a key leadership position, requiring strong financial reporting expertise, team management experience, and stakeholder engagement skills. You will also support the FP&A team with budgeting and forecasting while driving efficiencies across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for Group Audit relationships and management
2. Working with Auditors for statutory accounts sign off
3. Manage all aspects of Tax compliance, including VAT reporting and returns
4. Working Capital Management
5. Management of the AP & AR functions, including management of a team of 2
6. Responsible for key monthly reconciliations such as vehicle asset and hire purchase recs
7. Preparation of Financial reporting for senior stakeholders
8. Providing key Finance operations analysis to support decision making and drive efficiencies
9. Preparation of the month end files to support monthly management accounts
10. Responsible for signing off monthly Balance sheet reconciliations
11. Supporting the budget & forecasting process
12. Other Ad Hoc projects
Experience & Qualifications:
1. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
2. Strong interpersonal and team management experience
3. Ability to proactively challenge and build relationships across multiple departments
4. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
5. Self-motivated, driven, and technically strong
6. Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
7. A true team player with excellent communication skills
