The post is ideal for someone who is wanting to progress their career in SEN education, applicant must have previous experience of working in a SEN education setting. Full training will be provided, following a structured induction programme. The Fitzroy Academy is a New Reflexions Residential Special School for students with autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties. The school offers students aged 7-18 a small nurturing environment in which to grow, learn and develop. The successful candidate will be caring, nurturing, enthusiastic and ready to support Students with disabilities and Communication needs, some our students are preverbal and require personal care. You will lead small groups following teacher planning and to provide delivery of specific interventions and learning programmes to individual students. The successful candidate must have experience working in a special needs educational setting, working with students who can exhibit challenging behaviour. You will need to be confident and resilient in working one to one with students and small groups under teacher guidance. Further special needs training will be available for the right candidate. Applicants should ideally have experience of working with complex students, will need to demonstrate a calm, positive approach, enthusiasm, energy and plenty of patience.
