The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Spanish lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, inspiring students to develop their language skills and cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Spanish lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their full potential.
* Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress, ensuring they meet or exceed their targets.
* Encourage a love for languages through creative and interactive teaching methods.
* Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or trips.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching strategies.
* Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behavior.
* Support students in their academic and personal development, providing guidance where needed.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A degree in Spanish, Modern Foreign Languages, or a related field.
* Experience teaching Spanish at secondary school level, including GCSE and potentially A-Level.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for language learning.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and contribution to the school community.
Desirable
* Ability to teach an additional language (e.g., French or German) is an advantage.
* Experience in delivering A-Level Spanish courses.
