Job Description Manufacturing Engineer – Industrialisation/Digital Full-time Derby/Hybrid – 3 days on-site What you will be doing An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Rolls-Royce team in Derby. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the frontline within the Civil Large Engine Assembly and Test business, creating, developing, and adapting manufacturing processes that will be introduced and used for years to come. You would be responsible for Industrialisation of product and processes with a specific focus on embedding and championing digital systems for manufacturing. Responsibilities In this role, you will: Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme. Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design intent and responsible for mitigating against process deviation. Operate a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Contol and Intellectual Property requirements. Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems, and technologies to meet current or future requirements using a systems engineering and data driver approach which enable industrialisation activities. Develop business cases with benefits assumptions. Develop, implement, validate, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes. Where required, support business capital projects to support capacity, business continuity and infrastructure improvements. Deploy and implement standardised Digital Manufacturing processes and technologies working across the Commodity and Production lifecycle with Design and Operations functions ensuring business readiness in terms of people and process change to maximise the business benefit. Work with interfacing teams, local and subject matter experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required. Identify, document, and share best practice. Capture and utilise lessons learnt. Ensure all processes are developed in a manner that meets the business needs of Rolls-Royce, to enable processes to be integrated into Rolls-Royce sites and fully realise the benefit. Manage and communicate change effectively and regularly, to a wide range of stakeholders, from operational teams and shop floor facing functions to business leaders. You will build and nurture the digital culture and integration across the facility teams. Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources, budget and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales. Present progress reports to key stakeholders. Why Rolls-Royce? You will also have experience of Technology Development and Product Introduction methodologies such as Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process to ensure that all processes deployed are developed in line with industry standards. Civil Large Engines Assembly and Test is at the forefront of delivery for Rolls-Royce Civil Aviation. You will work daily on the engine assembly line and directly impact delivery to our airframer customers.
