Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to take on the role of Ward Leader of Ward 43 at King's Mill Hospital. Ward 43 is a 24 bedded acute ward and is part of the Medical Division, which specialises in acute respiratory medicine and chronic respiratory conditions.Ward 43 is a busy, fast paced, acute environment, with a robust well experienced MDT that strives in delivering excellent patient care from admission to discharge. As the ward leader you will be directly responsible for the management and clinical leadership of the ward. You will require experience in clinical leadership and ideally possess respiratory experience and knowledge. You are required to be enthusiastic and proactive in leading a well-established team, have a passion for respiratory/acute medicine and be able to make informed decisions to ensure patient safety is upheld, to ensure the ward staff are delivering the highest quality care possible. It is imperative to maintain a close working relationship with the matron, the ward consultants and the immediate MDT overseeing care delivery/care planning, discharge planning and ensuring a positive patient journey and experience for all patients on ward 43. Main duties of the job Provide outstanding leadership, ensuring patient care is delivered safe, efficiently and to a high standard Direct line manager for all nursing staff in clinical area Demonstrate expert nursing practice, providing direct clinical care to patients Directly oversee both clinical and non clinical governance in the clinical area Oversee patient experience and work closely with patients and relatives to ensure a positive patient experience on the ward Efficient financial management of allocated budget whilst maintaining patient safety Work collaboratively with the Leadership team within respiratory, ensuring that standards are maintained, evaluated, and continuously improved.
