Are you an experienced Operations Manager in the construction or civils sector, or perhaps a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager ready to take the next step into operations management?
We are seeking, on behalf of a client, a skilled and proactive Operations Manager to join our team in Central Scotland. This role requires a leader with a strong background in construction or civils, working closely with Quantity Surveyors to drive project success and maximise operational performance. This is very much a hands-on role.

2. Site Operations & Compliance: Oversee and manage all site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental standards. Maintain ISO accreditations and ensure projects comply with regulatory and contract requirements.
3. Leadership & Collaboration: Provide strong, decisive leadership to site teams, prioritising safety and compliance while fostering an environment of operational excellence.
4. Budget & Resource Management: Collaborate closely with Quantity Surveyors to manage project budgets, optimise costs, and allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones.
5. Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, facilitating effective communication and smooth project delivery.
6. Strategic Planning & Issue Resolution: Lead project planning, assess risks, and resolve issues proactively to meet performance and compliance targets.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience as an Operations Manager within the construction or civils sector, or as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager ready to step into operations management.
2. Strong background in writing tenders, CPP documents, method statements, and risk assessments, with a solid understanding of FIDIC and NEC contracts.
3. Extensive knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations, with experience in maintaining ISO accreditations.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proactive approach to managing site teams and ensuring compliance.
5. Experience working alongside Quantity Surveyors to control budgets, forecast costs, and maximise project profitability.
6. Desirable: Experience with substation projects or Scottish Power authorisation.
What's On Offer:
1. Competitive salary (up to £80k) and benefits package.
2. Opportunities for career growth and development within a supportive team environment.
3. Company car (or car allowance) and fuel card.
If you're ready to bring your expertise to a challenging and rewarding role—whether as an experienced Operations Manager or a Contracts/Senior Project Manager looking to advance—we want to hear from you.
