Our team in Cornwall is recruiting for a Residential Practitioner, to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. If you are a BABCP registered Practitioner or HCPC registered Social Worker then we’d love to hear from you.
What we’re looking for
With You at Chy offers residential places for adults who have just done a detox. Our programme runs for 12 weeks. We offer one-to-one and group support, life skills workshops and training and education opportunities. Expert help is on hand 24 hours a day.
You will be a compassionate and inspiring Residential Practitioner who has demonstrable experience of working in a residential health and social care setting and supporting substance misuse service users. We are looking for someone with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively. It is important that you have sound knowledge and understanding of assessments, care planning, issues affecting substance users and motivational interviewing, to name a few.
You will be supporting colleagues, volunteers and sessional workers providing advice and guidance, as appropriate. You will ensure care standards are maintained and service users receive the most appropriate care.
Please note you will be required to work evenings and weekends. Please also be advised that a full driving licence and use of a car is essential for this post.

Required Skills
1. BACP registered practitioner or HCPC registered social worker
2. Evidence of continuous professional development
3. Demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting
4. Successful track record of working with substance misuse service users
5. Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
6. Experience of working in a residential setting
7. Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
8. Ability to work effectively as a team player in a collaborative and supportive manner
