DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Quality placement student to join our team specializing in Quality for our Customer Quality Assurance department in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 7 th July 2025, this placement is 100% site-based.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Oversee the part returns process, ensuring CQA Engineers are notified and returned parts are properly labeled with issue details
2. Raise and track Material Non-Conformances (MNCs) in the Cummins Quality Metric Stream (CQMS), ensuring corrective actions are initiated
3. Address audit gaps in the assembly line by implementing additional quality audits and checklist questions at fit and audit stations
4. Assist with IATF16949/ISO9001 audit activities to ensure compliance
5. Participate and help organize student charity events, contributing at least 4 hours to local community work
6. Engage in the Engineering in Schools programme to promote engineering education
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
7. Working towards a Mechanical, Automotive, or similar Engineering degree
8. PC literate in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook)
9. Methodical and data-based approach to problem solving
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, time management, approachability, and ability to work independently
