A golden opportunity has arisen for a full-time Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to join the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This is a replacement post for a retiring consultant, joining a committed and motivated team of OMFS consultant surgeons and supporting team.
Main duties of the job
The clinical duties will involve assessing and treating patients in out-patients (Bevan Ward) and theatres at PAH. They will include both general OMFS patients and those who require skin cancer management. The post will also involve management of trauma and emergency patients at PAH. The role will include an element of on-call duty with negotiation.
The non-clinical responsibilities include supporting the trust in terms of its contractual obligations to its commissioners and in achieving the trust targets. The post-holder will be bound by the conditions in their contract and also the GMC's expectations as set out in Good Medical Practice.
In addition, the post will be expected to evolve to encompass managerial, educational or other extended roles dependant on the specific interests of the appointee.
